Strategic Focus

• Developed and executed an innovative cross-category/cross-functional strategy for the Global Microbiology Quality program improving speed to market, technology transfer, simplification, communication and risk management across the entire organization with emphasis on meeting quality and regulatory requirements.Provided guidance and support to the corporation on all aspects of microbiological control and safety.

• Provided focus and simplification for the Global Quality function in key areas including compliance, supplier management, product conformance, documentation, training, water and critical utilities and equipment.

• Developed and led a global, cross category preservation strategy. Reduced product development timeline by 4 months.

• Led the development and implementation of the Global KPI system for microbiology and provided input on the Quality KPI system.

• Represented company externally with trade and professional organizations.

 

Training/Team Building

• Built a global team of 200+ quality and microbiology professionals based on communication, global mentorship and culture development.

• Developed and implemented a multi-faceted training program for the worldwide community.

• Interfaced with multiple functions including Quality, R&D, Procurement, Supply Chain, Product Safety, Regulatory and Suppliers.

 

Risk Based Microbiology/Quality Systems

• Developed and globalized a world class GMP compliant microbiology laboratory system and a GMP/Environmental manufacturing microbiology control program that was deployed in over 50 laboratories and production sites. Focused year on year to improve laboratory efficiencies. 

• Deployed a rapid method strategy resulting in incremental annual savings of 20+ million dollars in ten years and a reduction of finished product release time by 4 days resulting in inventory reductions.

• Institutionalized GMP Awareness and Best Practices and Cleaning & Sanitization (C&S) with the goal of improving quality while reducing overhead costs and meeting regulatory requirements.

• Reduced incidence of out of specification materials 75% between 2015-2017.

• Addressed all regulatory aspects of microbiology for the corporation including hands-on participation in regulatory body audits.
